How to replace the A/C Hose for the evaporator outlet on 2008 Chevrolet Equinox?

The halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) serves to recover refrigerant before starting the replacement of the evaporator outlet hose. First break loose the evaporator outlet hose nut then unfasten the evaporator outlet hose from the compressor hose. You must first remove the evaporator outlet hose along with the txv retainer plate nut to separate the txv from the thermal expansion valve. Pull out the evaporator outlet hose from the vehicle before disposing the sealing washers which are attached to the evaporator outlet hose and compressor hose. Protective caps must be installed to the txv and liquid line and compressor hose to stop contamination and desiccant saturation. In the installation process remove protective caps after which install new sealing washers onto the evaporator outlet hose and liquid line and compressor hose. The txv installation process requires securing the evaporator outlet hose while adding the liquid line according to the 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque specification. Secure the evaporator outlet hose nut to the evaporator outlet hose following compressor hose attachment while tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The system requires recharging before checking all a/c joints with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
