How to replace the door emblem and nameplate on 2007 Chevrolet Express 2500?

First, tape the door emblem area on the door for protection and alignment. Heat the emblem/nameplate using a heat gun (J 25070) with an angle of 152 mm (6.0 in) away from the surface in a circular motion for about 30 seconds. Carefully lift off emblem/nameplate with a plastic, flat bladed tool in order not to cause paint damage. Next, both the door panel surface and the rear of the emblem/nameplate should be stripped with 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501), or a similar product, and clean the door with varnish makers and painters (VMP), naptha. If the location of emblem/nameplate is unmarked, then make use of the tape for guidance. Waste some time warming the surface of the door with the heat gun (J 25070) to a minimal of 21°C (70°F), but don't touch the adhesive of the emblem/namelate. Back up the area you are preparing to have the emblem/nameplate adhere to it after removing the backing from the front of the emblem/nameplate and press it onto the door panel surface as you continue removing the back up. Hand roll emblem/nameplate to achieve proper adhesion and inspect bonding and finally remove tape from the door emblem.
