  A: You need to detach the Exhaust Manifold heat shield as the first step for right side Exhaust Manifold replacement. You should remove the Exhaust Manifold bolts and Catalytic Converter nuts but discard both components and avoid using their gaskets. First separate the Exhaust Manifold from its position then get rid of the existing gasket before you clean and check the Exhaust Manifold components. Go through a check of the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield sealing surface before installation to see if the surface requires replacement. Place a new heat shield to the Catalytic Converter followed by installing a fresh gasket between Exhaust Manifold and Exhaust Manifold.
