How to replace the shock absorber in the rear suspension on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

The replacement of the shock absorber in the rear suspension starts with-taking out the rear seat back. Secondly detach the sound insulator from the shock tower and take out the mounting nuts from the upper shock. While supporting the vehicle with a lift you should take out the shock by removing the lower shock bolt and dislodging the shock from the vehicle. Begin the installation by properly placing the shock inside the vehicle before tightening it according to the fastener notice. Proceed to add the lower shock mounting bolt which you should tighten to 150 N.m (111 lb ft). Lead the shock through the body before you lower the vehicle and then install the upper shock mounting nuts that need to be tightened to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Install the repositioned sound insulator by putting back the rear seat.
