  A: The first step to replace battery positive and negative cables on the lc3 - 8 cyl, 4.4l, sc, dohc begins with disconnecting the battery negative cable. Widen the battery positive cable nut and detach the positive cable from its battery housing. Start by removing the battery positive cable nut from the fuse/relay center as well as disconnecting the battery positive cable lead from the stud on the center. The battery negative cable needs its stud-based nut removed for frame rail disconnection.
