A flat-bladed plastic tool should be used to carefully remove the emblem/nameplate from the panel while a 3M(R) P/N 07501 or equivalent substance should be used to remove all adhesive from both body panel and emblem/nameplate back. Wash the damaged panel before drying it with a clean lint-free material. The panel requires cleaning with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water and a clean lint-free cloth to eliminate existing adhesive residue. This process should be followed by using 3M(R) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or an equivalent to remove all traces of adhesive. Prior to placement mark the installation spot using masking tape or a magnetic strip while keeping both rear doors safely bolted in position. Position the emblem/nameplate for the right rear door at 47.5 mm (+/- 2 mm) (1.9 in (+/- 0.1 in)) distance from the vertical edge and 200.5 mm (+/- 2 mm) (7.9 in (+/- 0.1 in)) from the horizontal edge. Place the left rear door 200.5 mm (7.9 in) within a 2 mm (0.1 in) tolerance from the panel's horizontal edge and 47.5 mm (1.9 in) within a 2 mm (0.1 in) tolerance from its vertical edge. Warming the body panel to 66°F (19°C) or higher requires use of the J 25070 heat gun. For better adhesion apply 3M(R) Super Automotive Attachment Tape as double-coated acrylic foam tape to the emblem/nameplate but keep your hands off the tape and prevent it from touching any dirt sources. After removing adhesive tape backing, position the emblem/nameplate against masking tape or magnetic strip before firmly pressing it for thirty seconds to achieve strong adhesion. Finally you must remove both the masking tape and magnetic strip from the right rear door.
