How to Replace a Power Steering Hose for Pressure Hose on 2010 Buick Lucerne?

Before installation of the power steering pressure pipe/hose (LZ9/LGD) (3.9L) the technician must first support and lift the vehicle and place drain pans beneath specific areas. Extract all feasible power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir before proceeding. First isolate the power steering pressure hose by removing the retainer bolt then unscrewing both power steering pressure hose fittings from the Power Steering Pump and steering gear. Pull out the remaining plastic retainer from the power steering pressure hose before removing the hose out of the vehicle. The new power steering pressure hose needs to be positioned first followed by installation of the plastic retainer. Initial torque on all fittings should begin manually before reaching the final torque setting. Initiate the connection of the power steering pressure hose fitting to the steering gear by tightening it to 34 nm (25 lb ft) and repeat the process for the fitting connection to the Power Steering Pump. Position the power steering pressure hose retainer bolt before tightening it to 10 nm (89 lb in). The procedure calls for eliminating all extra power steering fluid followed by removing drain pans alongside filling and bleeding of the power steering system.
