2010 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2010 Cadillac CTS?
A: You must turn off your engine and press the Brake Pedal several times to harden it while expending power vacuum booster reserves prior to installing the Brake Master Cylinder. Use a tool to disconnect the level indicator switch electrical connection before unthreading the push nut securing the master cylinder mounting stud. Move the air inlet panel support bracket slowly toward you to slip it out from its position. To stop fluid leakages route the master cylinder primary brake tube from its plumbing point and cover both ends with appropriate closure devices. Follow this process with the second brake pipe connection on the master cylinder. Unscrew the two nuts from the master cylinder and pull it out from the Brake Booster power vacuum area. Examine the master cylinder seal between it and the power Brake Booster unit for damage then get a new one when needed. Put the master cylinder seal onto the master cylinder body flawlessly and straight. Bleed a brand-new master cylinder according to the bench method. Insert the master cylinder into the power vacuum Brake Booster space and fasten the master cylinder nuts with 25 nm (18 lb ft) torque. Fix up the secondary brake pipe connection to the master cylinder using 36 nm torque force and apply the same force when joining the primary brake pipe. Fasten the brake fluid level marker cable wires before putting the support bracket on its proper spot above the cylinder base plate when placing the air intake panel. End the hydraulic brake bleeding procedure.
