How to replace the rear brake backing plate on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?

To replace the rear brake backing, first raise and stabilize the vehicle properly. Remove the brake shoe components including the entire parking brake with the retainer. Next, remove the nuts that fasten the Wheel Hub assembly to the backing plate, and then pull off the Brake Line while plugging the hole to avoid losing fluid or contamination. Take out the Wheel Cylinder assembly and the Wheel Hub assembly. With an antilock brake system (ABS), cut loose the cable from the Wheel Speed Sensor and disengage the backing plate from the gasket. For installation, mount the backing plate with the new gasket onto the hub of the wheel making sure that the abs hub is well positioned. Put the complete Wheel Hub/backing plate assembly back into the rear axle plate, and if necessary, install the nuts and plug back Wheel Speed Sensor, tie tightening the brake Wheel Hub/backing plate-rear axle nuts to 28 nm (21 lb ft). Install the brake Wheel Cylinder assembly to the backing plate and then bring the Brake Line, tightening it to 16nm (12 lb ft). Return the brake components, tether the Parking Brake Cable to the brake shoe lever with retainer. Lastly, bleed the brakes and drop the vehicle.
