2010 Chevrolet Camaro Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on the left side on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Start with Starter motor removal before disassembling the camshafts and rocker arms in order to reach the left side valve stem oil seal and valve spring. Use the flywheel holding tool (EN 46106) to stop Crankshaft movement during the service because failure to use this tool might need disassembly of the Camshaft timing system. Set up the j 39313 Spark Plug port adapter to connect compressed air flow into the specified cylinder space. Position the en 46110 above the cylinder and attach its nut to the tightener. Adjust the en 46110 before unscrewing the valve spring retainer to free the valve spring and spring retainer. Put the en 46116 tool on the valve stem seal to remove it. Position the en 46116 between the valve stem and cylinder and then install the valve spring and retainer with this tool. Place the valve spring into position under the en 46110 unit then fasten its nut before fitting the valve spring keepers. Disconnect the j 39313 from its air power source. Remove it and install the spark plugs afterward. Put back the rocker arms and camshafts then take out the en 46106 before placing the Starter motor.
