How to Replace the Motor and Transmission Mount on the Left Side on 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Before replacing the left side transmission mount, first remove the negative Battery Cable. Lift and support the vehicle, then take off the front and rear transmission mount thru bolts. Lower the vehicle and take out the under hood electrical center cover. Disconnect the engine control module harness connector (3,4) as well as the positive battery cables from the under hood electric center. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose at the surge tank, and also remove the under hood electrical center tray bracket nuts and bolts as well as disconnecting the wiring harness retainer from the tray bracket. Raise the electrical center to the top and swing it out of the way. Back up the transmission with a hydraulic floor jack through the use of a block of wood between the jack and the transmission, then remove the transmission mount to transmission bolts and the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts. Slowly bring down the transmission so that you take off the transmission mount from the car. For installation you need to install the transmission mount to the mid-rail, hand start the transmission mount to middle rail bolts, and tighten into 34 nm (25lb ft). Raise the transmission up until it touches transmission mount, hand start the transmission mount to transmission bolts in the following sequence: rear bolt, middle bolt, front bolt, and then applied to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Lose the under hood electrical center, connect the wiring harness retainer to the tray bracket, fix the electrical center nuts and bolts tightening nut to 10 nm (89 lb in) and bolt to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Join the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank, join the positive battery cables to the under hood electrical center, tightening the nut on the positive cable to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Connect the engine control module harness connectors (3, 4), install the under hood electrical center cover, raise vehicle and tighten the tranny mount thru bolts-hands. Lastly, tighten the front and rear transmission mount thru bolts to 100 nm (74 lb ft) and reattach the negative Battery Cable.
