2010 Chevrolet Impala Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
A: A technician must start the transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe replacement by disconnecting the transaxle oil cooler (TOC) outlet hose from the top surface of the Radiator. The first step requires vehicle lift support then bolt removal from the toc hose retainer and placement of a drain pan under the oil cooler hoses. You should disconnect the toc outlet hose from the transaxle first before proceeding with the toc inlet hose removal from both the transaxle and Radiator then ending your hose work by taking out the toc hoses from the Radiator support retainer. When installing maintain enough room around transaxle oil cooler pipes and hoses to avoid any damage. To install the toc hoses the correct sequence begins with positioning them on the Radiator support retainer followed by the Radiator and then the transaxle. Install the toc hose retainer followed by its bolt after tightening it to 25 nm (18 lb ft) then lower the vehicle to connect the toc outlet hose at the top of the Radiator. Excessive transaxle fluid adds will create foam that could result in fluid loss and produce shift complaints and possibly cause damage. Complete the fluid level adjustment following the procedure for transmission fluid level check-up and fluid capacities and recommendations.
