How to replace the lower control arm on 2010 GMC Savana 1500?

Beginning the replacement of the lower Control Arm requires vehicle elevation support and removal of the tire together with the wheel. Follow these steps to complete the replacement task: first remove the Torsion Bar and stabilize link before removing the wheel drive shaft. Separate the shock absorber's lower retaining hardware while discarding the Ball Joint's retaining nut. The j 43631 (Ball Joint Remover) working with j 45851 (Ball Joint Separator Protector Adapters) allows technicians to separate the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle. Disassemble the nuts, washers, and bolts from the lower Control Arm before you remove it from the vehicle. Put the new lower Control Arm into position before attaching its lower Ball Joint to the Steering Knuckle. The mounting bolts for the lower Control Arm need installation with proper torque values at 155 nm for vehicles without a 14050/12300 gvw and at 120 nm +175° for vehicles with either 14050/12300 gvw or diesel engine characteristics. Secure the new lower Ball Joint retaining nut with 100nm torque (74lb-ft). After connecting the shock absorber to the lower Control Arm the installer should add the wheel drive shaft along with stabilizer link then the Torsion Bar before reinstalling the tire and wheel assembly. After reinstalling the wheel and tire remove the support system and lower your vehicle for a wheel alignment inspection.
