How to replace the upper control arm on 2009 GMC Savana 1500?

To replace the upper Control Arm, lift and hold the vehicle, hold the lower Control Arm with jack stand. Roll the tire and wheel, as well as the retaining bolts of the brake hose and wheel speed sensor brackets. In case any, remove the wheel drive shaft (4WD only). Remove the upper ball joint retaining nut to disconnect the upper Control Arm from the Steering Knuckle with the aid of j 43631 (Ball Joint Remover) and j 45851 (Ball Joint Separator Protector Adapters). Followed by removing the nuts of the upper Control Arm and the adjustment cams, the upper Control Arm bolts, and then take off the upper Control Arm. For installation, place the new upper Control Arm and install the upper Control Arm bolts according to the procedure of fastener cautions. Secure the nuts for the upper Control Arm and the adjustment cams, tightening them to 175 nm (129 lb ft). Hose the upper Control Arm onto the Steering Knuckle, and also install the new upper ball joint retaining nut and screw it to 50 nm (37 lb ft). If necessary, install the wheel drive shaft (4WD only), and the retaining bolts of the brake hose and wheel speed sensor brackets, bolt the brake hose bracket to Steering Knuckle bolt to 10 nm (88 lb in), and the brake hose bracket to the upper Control Arm Bolt to 10 nm (88 lb in). Finally, replace the tire and wheel, take out the safety stands, bring the car down, and tun car alignment.
