How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Reservoir on Buick Park Avenue?

Service and repair of the power steering reservoir should begin with fixing the hydraulic pump on a flat surface so the shaft points upward. Insert the screwdriver to spread the retaining tab of the clip before moving the reservoir clip away from its position on the hydraulic pump assembly. The second reservoir clip should be removed through the same process before you extract the reservoir from the hydraulic pump housing. Discard the O-ring seal which you will find at the neck of either the reservoir or the hydraulic pump housing that you need to remove. Complete installation requires power steering fluid lubrication of the new O-ring before placing it around the reservoir neck. Mount the reservoir onto the hydraulic pump assembly where the neck fully joins with the assembly. Place the reservoir feet against the hydraulic pump housing sides then position the new reservoir retaining clips (supplied by the pump) into their appropriate slots so they completely insert into the hydraulic pump housing.
