In changing the inner Tie Rod, one should remove all the rack and pinion boots, ensuring the rack is held back to avoid it undergoing any damage in the process. Then, pull off the shock dampener from the inner Tie Rod assembly and slide it back over the rack. Remove the inner Tie Rod assembly from the rack assembly by engaging a wrench to the flats of the rack assembly and flats of the inner Tie Rod housing , in that order, so that it is counterclockwise until it becomes separated from the rack . Remove loctite(R) old material from threads of the rack and the inner Tie Rod. For assembly slide the shock dampener forward onto the rack and rub the threads are clean before the application loctite(R). Under the inner Tie Rod threads, use loctite(R)262 (or similar) and attach the maker Tie Rod to the rack by turning on wrench flats of the rack set up and torque wrench to flats of inner Tie Rod housing to 100 n. M (74ft. Lbs. ). Lastly, fit the shock dampener over the inner Tie Rod housing until the front lip of the shock dampener hits the inner Tie Rod housing and mount the Rack and Pinion Boot.
