How to replace the starter motor PG260 F2 or PG260 M on Buick Regal?

The process of replacing the non-serviceable Starter motor pg260 f2 or pg260 m (which are not considered repairable as the unit should be replaced in full) starts with disconnection of the battery negative cable. Lift and support the vehicle and then unbolt the front lower air deflector panel and the torque converters covers. Remove the positive Battery Cable to remove Starter solenoid bat terminal nut, also remove Starter solenoid wire to eliminate the s terminal nut at the Starter motor. Directly disengage the Starter bolts (1, 2) and the actual Starter motor, pull out any shims if needed. When installing the new Starter motor, make sure it is the model it supposed to be pg260 f2 and adjust it to the engine and reinstall the shims if removed. Connect the positive Battery Cable then apply the solenoid bat terminal nut finger tight after that connect the Starter solenoid wire then applying the solenoid s terminal nut finger tight. For solenoid bat of the solenoid terminal nut , apply 9.5 n.m (84 lb in); Starter solenoid s terminal nut 2.3 n.m (20.4 lb in). Reattach torque converter covers as well as front lower air deflector panel, bring the vehicle down, and finally reattach the battery negative cable.
