Initiate rear axle lower Control Arm Bushing replacement by first lifting the vehicle then supporting it. Next remove the tire and wheel assembly before proceeding. Initial steps require removing the rear axle lower Control Arm then cutting off the inboard lower Control Arm Bushing collar before cutting off the rubber collar on the outboard lower Control Arm. A 30 mm socket together with the bushing receiver (J21474-01) and the rear Control Arm Bushing bolt (J42200) are needed to press out the bushing. Start by applying lubricant to the new bushings before you should install the inboard bushing with its collar facing the rear Differential then use a 30 mm socket together with the bushing receiver (J21474-5) and rear Control Arm Bushing bolt (J42200) to push in the new bushing. Apply silicone spray to the outboard side bushing before installing it and press the new bushing into place with a 30 mm socket, the bushing receiver (J21474-5) and the rear Control Arm Bushing bolt (J42200). After installing the rear axle lower Control Arm, replace the tire and wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle.

Vehicle repair for control arm bushings begins when technicians raise the car followed by wheel assembly removal. First disconnect the road sensing suspension position sensor and bracket from the shock tower by removing the brake bracket retainer screw. The right side bushing replacement requires drivers to lower their exhaust system and heat shield. Install the screw jack under the rear suspension support forward arm then remove the forward arm nuts and bolts while keeping an eye on Brake Calipers and hoses and pipes to avoid damage. Use this procedure to gain 5 inches of clearance for a tool then insert (J 21474-01) tool between the forward arm flanges. High pressure lubricant needs to coat the threads of the (J21474-19) before you can install (J21474-01), (J21474-5), (J21474-18) and (J21474-19) to draw the bushing out of the forward arm through nut tightening. Place the new bushing onto the forward arm while keeping its flange notches at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions during installation. Make sure to approach from the outboard side before drawing the bushing inward. Reinstall tool (J21474-01) followed by threading high pressure lubricant onto (J21474-19) before using the same tools to pull the bushing into the forward arm until it forms a firm sealing contact with the arm. Slowly lift up the suspension support as you align it to the body while ensuring you reposition impacted brake components. The suspension support forward arm requires bolts, nuts, and washers for installation with the right side nut tightened to 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.), left side bolt tightened to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.) and upper mounting bolts tightened to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.). The process involves removing screw jacks while reinstalling the exhaust system and heat shield along with reconnecting the road sensing suspension position sensor and bracket and installing the brake bracket retainer screw until the vehicle's tires and wheels can be safely reinstalled before lowering the vehicle back to the ground.
