  Q: How to Properly Install a Water Pump Pulley on Cadillac DTS?

  A: You must start the replacement process of the Water Pump Pulley by removing the water pump drive belt tensioner shield. Installation begins with aligning the Crankshaft at top dead center (TDC) position through the use of Crankshaft socket (J39946). The power steering and Water Pump Pulley remover (J38825) should be used to detach the water pump drive pulley from the intake Camshaft after end cap removal. Install the water pump drive pulley onto the intake Camshaft with the Water Pump Pulley installer (J38823) until the tool reaches its proper depth at the Camshaft surface. Reinstall the Camshaft end cap while tightening it to 2 nm (18 inch lbs.) before you put on the water pump drive belt tensioner shield.
