The replacement process for the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve begins with loosening the fuel cap to reduce pressure before removing the fuel injector sight shield. Disconnect the evap canister purge valve electrical connector along with its evap purge pipe that leads to the purge valve. You need to remove the retaining bolt before pulling out the evap canister purge valve from the water housing. Engine oil provided by the installer should be used for lubricating the o-ring and new o-rings must be included when installing the evap purge valve. Continue by inserting the evap canister purge valve into the water housing followed by securing it with the retaining bolt which needs to be tightened to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The evap purge pipe should be connected with the electrical connector while you replace the fuel injector sight shield.
