To replace the rear brake pads, firstly check on the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level; if the level is in between maximum-full and minimum allowable, no fluid need to be removed, but if above should remove fluid to the midway point than. Lift up and carry the vehicle and take away the tire and the wheel assembly. Check the operation of the calipers and apply a c-clamp to slowly bottom the pistons of the caliper, reposition as needed. Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire separated from its mount to prevent the flexibility of the hydraulic flexible brake hose from being damaged. Takedown the caliper from mounting bracket without removing the hydraulic brake flexible hose and inspect the caliper assembly. Remove brake pads and discard the anti-rattle clips from brake caliper mounting bracket. For installation mount the new anti rattle clips and brake pads on the caliper bracket and replace your caliper. Reattach the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, slowly with the engine off press down the Brake Pedal to a point of about 2/3 of the travel distance of the Brake Pedal, and then let go slowly. Wait for 15 seconds and do the same process again until you have a firm pedal that seats the brake caliper pistons and pads appropriately. Finally, you may want to fill the master cylinder reservoir up to the correct fluid level with clean brake fluid and burnish the brake pads and rotors as needed.
