To fix the Rack and Pinion Boot of the vehicle, initially, using the outer tie rod movement tool, one is allowed to remove the outer tie rod. Next, take out the nut from the inner tie rod assembly and undo the tie rod clamp. Use the side cutters to cut out the boot clamp and dispose of it. Subsequently, take off the Rack and Pinion Boot. For installation, put the new boot clamp in place on the Rack and Pinion Boot and grease the inner rod and the gear assembly prior to booting on to the inner tie rod assembly. Make sure that the Rack and Pinion Boot is not twisted or deformed; if necessary, reshape it with hands before using the boot clamp. Put the boot onto the gear assembly until it is securely in the groove and put the j 22610 keystone clamp pliers (J 22610) in to put and crimp the boot clamp. After doing so, attach the tie rod end clamp on the boot using pliers, install the jam nut to the inner tie rod assembly, this is followed by the reattaching of the outer tie rod to the
Steering Knuckle, followed by adjusting the front toe.
