How to replace the Dipstick Tube on Chevrolet Corvette?

The process to change the oil level indicator requires first removing the oil level indicator together with the oil level indicator tube bolt before extracting the oil level indicator tube. The O-ring seal should be inspected for damage and cuts; the seal can stay in place if it remains intact. The O-ring should be taken out of the oil level indicator tube if it needs to be removed. Before installation insert clean engine oil onto the O-ring seal and position the oil level indicator tube in its correct place. First securely raise and support the motor vehicle before slowly inserting the oil level indicator tube through the engine block while allowing the collar to match its surface before lowering the vehicle. Screw and tighten the oil level indicator tube bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The last step includes installing the oil level indicator system together with a visual verification of oil quantity and a topping-off when necessary.
