The replacement procedure for outlet Radiator hose in 4.8 5.3 and 6.0l engines starts with cooling system drainage. The procedure starts by loosening air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the
Throttle Body and mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor locations before removing the Radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet duct. After that, remove the air cleaner outlet duct. The procedure begins with moving the outlet hose clamp from the
Water Pump and taking out the outlet hose from the pump followed by moving the outlet hose clamp from the Radiator to extract the outlet hose from the Radiator. During installation first attach the outlet hose to the Radiator while positioning its clamp at the Radiator location and then connect the outlet hose to the Water Pump with the clamp installed at the Water Pump. Line up the arrow at the Throttle Body end of the duct with the Throttle Body attaching stud before mounting the air cleaner outlet duct. Place the Radiator inlet hose clip onto the outlet duct before you tighten both air cleaner outlet duct clamps which should be set to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) for the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor. Finally, fill the cooling system.
