  Q: How to Properly Replace an Air Suspension Compressor on a Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Vehicle elevation and support is necessary as the first step to replace the Air Suspension Compressor. The Air Suspension Compressor filter needs its side clips squeezed to free itself from the underbody rail. Once the compressor bracket bolt and nuts are removed the compressor can suspend from the bracket hook. Disconnect the tubing leading to the air dryer before taking off the power cable from the Air Suspension Compressor. Turn the Air Suspension Compressor assembly along with the bracket 90 degrees until the hook detaches from the vehicle before extraction of the compressor and bracket. Start by removing the Air Suspension Compressor dryer and Relay from their bracket position and finish by taking out compressor bolts. Remove the Air Suspension Compressor filter hose from two different points on the Air Suspension Compressor after detaching the compressor from its bracket. Before installation connect the Air Suspension Compressor filter hose to its two points on the Air Suspension Compressor then position the compressor onto the bracket. Fasten the bolts/screws of the Air Suspension Compressor until torque reaches 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). After the bracket installation the workflow includes attaching the Relay and dryer while also installing the Air Suspension Compressor shield. Reposition the underbody rail bracket at a 90-degree angle to hang the compressor from the hook. Plug in the electrical connector but first add the air line to the dryer unit. Secure the bracket nuts to 10 nm torque setting using 89 inch lbs. Torque. Also secure bracket bolt to 50 nm at 37 ft. Lbs. Torque. When finished installing the Air Suspension Compressor filter place it onto the underbody rail before lowering the vehicle.
