The first step requires lifting the vehicle while providing support before starting the replacement of the Rack And Pinion outer Tie Rod End. You must first remove the tire followed by the wheel before disconnecting the outer tie rod retaining nut. A wedge should be inserted between the joint and its attached part to stop seal damage during steering linkage joint disconnecting operations. The inner tie rod must have its jam nut loosened while the outer tie rod gets removed from the inner tie rod before discarding the jam nut. After cleaning the tapered steering knobble surface you must apply lubricant to inner tie rod threads using suitable chassis lubricant before installing a new jam nut onto the outer tie rod. Place the outer tie rod between inner tie rod then fasten both parts to the Steering Knuckle. Begin by tightening the outer tie rod retaining nut to 45 nm torque before finishing with 95° torque angle using the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). After replacing the tire and installing the wheel properly you should lower the automobile and apply the necessary front toe adjustments.
