How to replace the fuel level sensor on GMC Envoy?

To replace the sensor you must remove the assembly from the tank. Next, depress the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector retainer to release and remove the connector from the module cover. Take out the pigtail wires, that is the fuel level sensor pigtail wires, from behind its retainer on the bucket, then push in the fuel level sensor retainer on the bucket, mindful of the orientation of the fuel level sensor float as it comes out. Slide down the fuel level sensor from the bucket to remove it. For installation place the new fuel level sensor to the bucket and slide it up in place to lock it home fully with the retainer on the bucket. Fit the pigtail wires of the fuel level sensor behind the retainer on the bucket and plug the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector to the module cover while ensuring that the retainer is properly engaged. Lastly, reinstall the fuel sender assembly.
