GMC Yukon Wheel Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the wheel bearing and hub on GMC Yukon?
A: Start by lifting the vehicle and taking off its tire and wheel. Take out the brake rotor when you disconnect the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle. Pull the axle nut dust cover and take out the cotter pin and wheel drive shaft nut retainer before you remove the wheel drive shaft retainer nut. You can disconnect the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly by using the axle remover tool (J 45859) on both ends of the wheel drive shaft. To install the new Wheel Hub and bearing system embed it into the vehicle then tighten the retaining bolts to 140 nm strength. Add the wheel drive shaft retaining nut and set torque to 250 nm. Secure its components such as the retainer and cotter pin to the nut. Place the dust cap in position then link the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle and replace the brake rotor, tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
