GMC Yukon Brake Line Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and replace the Brake Line and its reservoir hose on GMC Yukon?
A: Once you turn the ignition to off and park the car without letting the brake pedal up you can replace the Brake Master Cylinder and its reservoir hose. This step needs about 1 to 3 minutes for the brake modulator and high pressure accumulator (HPA) to relieve their pressure. Wait until pressure relief ends after switching off the ignition and removing the key before draining brake fluid from the reservoir below the supply hose fitting. Dispose of the fluid properly. Remove the electrical connections of the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and both quick disconnects from the master cylinder reservoir and supply hose. To access the abs module components you first need to raise and support the vehicle and next remove all bolts that secure the splash shield retainer. Clean all brake parts on the bpmv assembly and fittings before disconnecting the supply hose endpiece and capping this inlet point with the return hose to avoid fluid spillage. Follow these steps again for the bpmv return hose and seal the outlet port by both fixing the cap and plugging the hose. Extract the supply and return hoses from their holders and take them off the vehicle. Secure the supply and return hoses to their fittings on the vehicle before installing bpmv return hose by making sure the quick-connect secures completely. Now plug the bpmv supply hose quick connect by ensuring it locks into place. Put the abs module splash shield into position and fasten its bolts with 20 nm torque (15 lb ft). Also secure the retainers. Move the vehicle to a low position and attach the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir return hose quick connect as well as the supply hose quick connect. End your work by filling the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir.
