    Q:
How to remove and replace the Brake Line and its reservoir hose on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by turning off the ignition and disconnecting the key because it takes between 1-3 minutes for the brake modulator and hpa to relieve pressure through the brake pedal application process. Wait for the pressure relief to finish before emptying the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir through the reservoir supply hose fitting and disposing of the brake fluid into an approved waste container. Disconnect these three components from the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir return hose quick connect and supply hose quick connect and Brake Fluid Level Sensor electrical connector. Lift and stabilize the vehicle while taking out the left front wheelhouse liner. The abs module splash shield retainer is the first item to remove before you proceed to the abs module splash shield bolts and finally the splash shield. The bpmv assembly and hose fittings need cleaning before removing the bpmv supply hose quick connect and applying caps to the inlet port with plugging of the supply hose to prevent brake fluid loss. After disconnecting the bpmv return hose quick connect you should cap the outlet port while plugging in the return hose. Remove the supply and return hoses from their supportive hardware and remove them from the vehicle framework. Proceed with attachment by connecting vehicle supply and return hoses to their retainers while ensuring bpmv return hose quick connect maintains full engagement with supply hose quick connect . After mounting the abs module splash shield add the bolts and tighten them to 20 nm (15 lb ft) then secure the splash shield retainer. Reinstall the left front wheelhouse liner then lower the vehicle while connecting the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir return hose quick connect and supply hose quick connect . Special attention should be given to refill the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the Brake Line and its reservoir hose on GMC Yukon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Once you turn the ignition to off and park the car without letting the brake pedal up you can replace the Brake Master Cylinder and its reservoir hose. This step needs about 1 to 3 minutes for the brake modulator and high pressure accumulator (HPA) to relieve their pressure. Wait until pressure relief ends after switching off the ignition and removing the key before draining brake fluid from the reservoir below the supply hose fitting. Dispose of the fluid properly. Remove the electrical connections of the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and both quick disconnects from the master cylinder reservoir and supply hose. To access the abs module components you first need to raise and support the vehicle and next remove all bolts that secure the splash shield retainer. Clean all brake parts on the bpmv assembly and fittings before disconnecting the supply hose endpiece and capping this inlet point with the return hose to avoid fluid spillage. Follow these steps again for the bpmv return hose and seal the outlet port by both fixing the cap and plugging the hose. Extract the supply and return hoses from their holders and take them off the vehicle. Secure the supply and return hoses to their fittings on the vehicle before installing bpmv return hose by making sure the quick-connect secures completely. Now plug the bpmv supply hose quick connect by ensuring it locks into place. Put the abs module splash shield into position and fasten its bolts with 20 nm torque (15 lb ft). Also secure the retainers. Move the vehicle to a low position and attach the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir return hose quick connect as well as the supply hose quick connect. End your work by filling the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir.
