Start by evacuating the cooling system fluid before performing Water Pump replacement. First disconnect the clamps on the air cleaner outlet duct near the
Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor before removing the outlet duct radiator inlet hose clip and air cleaner outlet duct. The engine sight shield and radiator vent inlet hose must be unclipped from their position on the radiator hose. Start by moving the inlet hose clamp away from the Water Pump before you detach both the inlet hose and the accessory
Drive Belt with
Fan Blade. Begin by repositioning the outlet hose clamp and proceed to remove the outlet hose followed by the surge tank outlet hose clamp and surge tank outlet hose from the Water Pump. Relocate the heater inlet hose clamp before taking out the heater inlet hose. First remove the Water Pump Pulley bolts and pulley from the assembly then pull out the Water Pump bolts along with the Water Pump and gaskets before discarding the gaskets. To install the Water Pump start by cleaning all gasket surfaces of oil and foreign materials before installing the pump with new gaskets. Install the Water Pump bolts, tightening them first to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) initialize bolt torque to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before proceeding to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Begin by installing the Water Pump Pulley along with its bolts before moving on to install the heater inlet hose and its clamp followed by the surge tank outlet hose and its clamp and finally the outlet hose and its clamp. Place the accessory Drive Belt followed by the Fan Blade and install the inlet hose while securing its clamp. The engine vent inlet hose should be connected to radiator hose clips before installing the engine sight shield unless otherwise needed. Insert the Throttle Body end of the duct so its arrow aligns with the Throttle Body attachment stud before installing the air cleaner outlet duct. Finally, install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct, tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.)complete the cooling system procedure.
