    Q:
How to replace the water pump on 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before handling 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l Water Pump replacements you must drain the cooling system. Open the air intake duct clamps at both the Throttle Body and the maf/iat sensor before unpacking the radiator inlet hose from the outlet duct and removing the air intake outlet duct. When necessary detach the engine sight shield. Unclipped the vent inlet Radiator Hose then put the Water Pump hose clamp at the new position and extracted the hose. Quit the Fan Blade and disconnect the accessory Drive Belt. Take off the outlet hose through its clamp and afterward the surge tank outlet hose along its clamp and heater inlet hose with its clamp. Lift out the Water Pump by removing its bolts before replacing all gaskets with new ones. You must install new gaskets on the clean surfaces before fitting the Water Pump. Use 15 nm torque before tightening Water Pump bolts to 30 nm. Put back the heater inlet hose and its clamp onto the surge tank outlet hose and its clamp together with the outlet hose and its clamp. Put on the accessory Drive Belt and install the Fan Blade along with its inlet hose that has its installed clamp. You can reconnect the engine vent inlet hose to its place on the Radiator Hose fasteners before reinstalling the engine sight shield if needed. Position the arrow mark of the outlet air duct over the Throttle Body fastener before screwing it into place. Join the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct last and use 62 inch lbs torque when tightening the clamps around the throat body and the maf sensor system.

    Q:
How to replace the water pump on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before beginning repair you must drain the cooling system of its fluid. Detach the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at both Throttle Body and maf sensor positions. Then take off the radiator inlet hose clip that secures the outlet duct and the air cleaner outlet duct. Detach either the sight shield or radiator vent hose from their nipples on the radiator clip. Unclip the inlet hose from its position at the Water Pump before you remove both the inlet hose and the Fan Blade with accessory Drive Belt. Before continuing position the surge tank outlet hose clamp then take off the surge tank outlet hose. Take out the heater inlet hose at this point as well and afterward extract the Water Pump bolts while disposing of the used gaskets. Before putting on the Water Pump place new gaskets and make sure gasket surfaces remain clean during installation. Start by screwing in the Water Pump bolts fourteen point two five and ten point two five newton meters then turn them to thirty newton meters. Install heater inlet and surge tank outlet hoses first with their secured clamps then connect outlet hose with its clamps and set the accessory Drive Belt and Fan Blade. Place the inlet hose back on the engine while securing its clamp. Connect the engine vent inlet hose to Radiator Hose clips and put on the engine sight shield if needed. Attach the air cleaner outlet duct over the Throttle Body by aligning the arrow panel with its attaching stud and connect the radiator inlet hose cut to the outlet duct. While tightening both clamps ensure the sensor and Throttle Body reach 7 n.m (62 lb in). Add coolant to finish the work.

    Q:
How to replace a water pump on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to drain the cooling system and take off the electric cooling fan to start Water Pump replacement. Detach the inlet hose at its Water Pump connection while opening the hose clamp. Then let the accessory Drive Belt slide off. Remove the outlet hose through its two clamps by first repositioning one clamp then the other. Take off the outlet hose on the heater inlet along with its clamp when you slip off the outlet hose. Unscrew and remove all Water Pump bolts to take out the pump assembly including its gaskets. Then discard the old gaskets. Keep oil and foreign materials away from all gasket surfaces before assembling the Water Pump. Install the Water Pump using new gaskets and follow this sequence when tightening the bolts first apply 15 nm force then boost to 30 nm. First place the heater inlet hose clamp then hose and repeat the same with surge tank outlet hose and water outlet hose before reinstalling the accessory Drive Belt. Put on the accessory Drive Belt and inlet hose together with its clamp. Then add the electric cooling fan at the end. The process ends when you fill the cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace a water pump on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start Water Pump replacement by taking off the air inlet duct and draining fluid before disconnecting the inlet Radiator Hose. Start by uninstalling the upper Fan Shroud plus cooling fan with assembly and Drive Belt. Unplug the radiator outlet hose from both the coolant pump and surge tank along with the heater hose before you can take out the Water Pump. First put the Water Pump in place and then attach the surge tank hose followed by the heater hose. Fit the outlet Radiator Hose back to the coolant pump before placing the Drive Belt and cooling fan with clutch assembly plus the upper Fan Shroud. Attach the inlet Radiator Hose to the Water Pump before putting back the air inlet duct. Check if the cooling system holds liquid properly and search for any fluid leaks before continuing. Using seal tabs or similar products in the cooling system should be avoided because they affect coolant flow and increase the risk of engine overheating or breakdown.
