Before servicing or repairing the valve Rocker Arm and push rod you need to obtain a torque angle meter (J36660-A). Start by removing the valve rocker covers as you separate them into different parts which will facilitate accurate reinstallation. Start by removing the Rocker Arm bolts before taking out the rocker arms while maintaining proper location of each Pushrod. After that, remove the pushrods. The installation of pushrods requires placing them back into their initial positions before applying gm p/n 1052356 chemical or its equivalent to the ends. Marked with yellow stripes the intake pushrods extend to 5 3/4 inches whereas exhaust pushrods with green stripes maintain a 6 inches length at the seat position inside the lifter. First install rocker arms and then apply Rocker Arm bolts while tightening to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) before finishing the procedure through torque angle meter (J36660-A) at 30 degrees additional bolt torque. Install the valve rocker covers as the final step of valve clearance adjustment.

A proper valve Rocker Arm and push rod service requires valve Rocker Arm cover removal then secure component separation to allow correct reinstallment. After unbolting the Rocker Arm bolts you should remove the rocker arms while maintaining Pushrod position order to their original configuration. To install the pushrods position them correctly at their original places before applying gm p/n 1052356 lubricant or another suitable product on both ends. Yellow-striped intake pushrods have a 5 3/4 inch length and green-striped exhaust pushrods measure 6 inches; ensure each Pushrod finds proper lodging in the lifter. The installation process begins with the rocker arms and continues with the installation of Rocker Arm bolts where torque reaches 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) then the j36660-a (J36660-A) torque angle meter is used for an additional 30 degrees of bolt tensioning. Reinstall the valve rocker covers as the last step.

Operation on the Rocker Arm assembly begins with assembling the complete set of tools that includes a torque angle meter (J36660-A). The first step in removal involves the removal of valve Rocker Arm covers along with the Rocker Arm bolts before proceeding with the Rocker Arm removal. As the second step you need to remove valve rocker arms together with pushrods. Installation begins with prelube gm p/n 1052365 or its equivalent product applied to push rod ends before placing intake valve push rods at their original position because they have a length of 144 mm (5.75 inches) (yellow) followed by exhaust valve push rods at 152.5 mm (6.0 inches) (green). The prelube should be used to coat all friction surfaces present on the Rocker Arm. The valve Rocker Arm bolts require tightening to 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.) with a torque angle of 30 degrees through use of the torque angle meter (J36660-A) before reinstallation of valve Rocker Arm covers.

First, remove the valve rocker arm cover(s) and the valve rocker arm bolt(s), then take out the valve rocker arm(s).

The intake pushrods measure 144.18 mm (5.68 inch) long, while the exhaust pushrods measure 152.51 mm (6.0 inch) long.

Install the intake valve pushrods and then the exhaust valve pushrods accordingly.

Begin by removing the valve rocker arm cover(s).

Reinstall the valve rocker arm cover.

The exhaust valve push rods, measuring 152.5 mm (6.0 inch) in length (green), should be installed after the intake valve push rods.

Begin by removing the valve rocker arm cover(s).

Next, take out the rocker arm bolt(s) and then remove the valve rocker arm(s) and pushrod(s).
