    Q:
How to replace the rear parking brake cable on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the parking brake rear cable requires that you raise the vehicle then support it from beneath. The installer needs to pull the front cable downwards to relax tension before removing left and right cables from the equalizer component of the front cable. Start by taking off the rh Muffler then disconnect both park brake cables from their locations on the right and left park brake actuators. First disconnect the rear suspension mounting bracket and remove its rear park brake cable retainer nut when replacing the rear Parking Brake Cable from the vehicle. To install the rear Parking Brake Cable you need to attach it then fasten it with the rear Parking Brake Cable retainer nut. Complete the connection process by linking the rear park brake cable to its designated bracket then continue with attaching rear park brake cables to corresponding park actuators on the left and right. Completion includes first connecting the left and right cables to the equalizer part of the front cable then reinstalling the rh Muffler followed by lowering the vehicle.
