How to replace the rear parking brake cable on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

The first step for replacing the parking brake rear cable requires raising and supporting the car. Pull down the front cable from beneath to lower the tension before disconnection of left and right rear cables from the equalizer component that makes up the front cable. First disconnect the rh Muffler before removing the rear park brake cables from left and right park brake actuators while taking out the rear park brake cable from the rear suspension mounting bracket. The next step requires removing the rear park brake cable retainer nut followed by removing the rear park brake cable from the vehicle. Begin by mounting the rear Parking Brake Cable then fasten it with the provided retainer nut. The installation requires joining the rear park brake cable first to the rear suspension mounting bracket and then to both left and right park actuators. Put back the rh Muffler while lowering the vehicle but first connect the left and right cables to the equalizer that forms part of the front cable.
