    Q:
How to Replace and Program an ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before installing part number (W/JL4) ABS Control Module (ABSCM) the first step must be disconnecting the negative Battery Cable while securely raising the vehicle. Clear all loose dirt in the region surrounding the electronic hydraulic control unit (EHCU) so that debris cannot reach the disassembled abs components. Additionally wash any visible contamination around the ehcu thoroughly. Remove the mounting screws which fasten the abscm to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) before carefully easing it off with minimum necessary force. A clean towel should be used to wipe the mounting surfaces between the bpmv and abscm. The installation of new abscm should be completed with brand new screws while entirely omitting rtv or any other sealants from the abscm gasket or mating surfaces. Mount the abscm onto the bpmv before adding new abscm screws that you will tighten at 5 nm (39 inch lbs.) with an x-pattern. Remove the vehicle from its height then return the negative cable to its position. Installation of a new abscm requires programming through an on engine state without starting followed by completion of the diagnostic system check - vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module without JL4 on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) without jl 4, it is important to clean the surrounding area of the electric hydraulic control unit (EHCU) to avoid contamination of abs component and wash away any drift. Remove the three electrical harness connectors from the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and mark/tie the brake lines properly before removing them from the bpmv. Unbolt the ehcu mounting bracket to the vehicular frame rail and pull out the ehcu from the vehicle. Next, unscrew the bolts that hold the bpmv to the ehcu mounting bracket, and take out the two way abs pump motor connector. Roll off the four t-25 torx® bolts and the ebcm from the bpmv, using only the gentle force to prevent a possible damage to the ebcm. Clean the mounting surfaces of the ebcm and bpmv, after which, install the ebcm on the bpmv without using rtv or any other form of sealant. Replace enconi new ebcm bolts together with the new bpmv and tighten them to 5 nm on exactly the x-pattern. Connect the two-way abs pump motor connector to the ebcm, then install the bpmv to the ehcu braket, and fasten it with bolts, which are tightened to 9 nm (7 ft. Lbs.). Replace the ehcu to the vehicle frame and tighten the three ehcu bracket bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Join the two ebcm electrical harness connectors and move the brake pipes back to the plastic bracket on the frame prior to installing the bpmv brake pipes to the connections and tightening to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) vivastreet. Finally, bleed the break system using the proper procedures.

    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first stage of ABS Control Module replacement demands disconnecting the Battery Cable and securely raising the vehicle. Clear the surrounding space of the electronic hydraulic control unit (EHCU) from loose dust because disassembled abs components can become contaminated but all contaminants must be washed thoroughly from ehcu vicinity. Use medium force when separating the ABS Control Module from the bpmv by removing the mounting screws that attach the ABS Control Module to the bpmv. You must wipe the surfaces that join the bpmv to ABS Control Module using a clean cloth. New screws specifically meant for the new ABS Control Module installation should replace the old screws while avoiding attachment of any sealant to ABS Control Module parts including its gasket and mating surfaces. After mounting the ABS Control Module onto the bpmv select new screws to install them at 5 nm (39 inch lbs.) in an x-pattern. After lowering the vehicle reinstall the negative Battery Cable. The programmer should operate the replacement module when it needs installation. Start by positioning the ignition at on mode before operating the diagnostic system check - vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle elevation before starting the replacement process while disconnecting the negative Battery Cable stands as the initial step to change the ABS Control Module. Maintain a clean environment surrounding the electric hydraulic control unit (EHCU) because contamination of abs components combined with dirt should be avoided. The mounting screws of the ABS Control Module must be removed in order to detach it from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) while using delicate hand pressure as needed. Use a clean cloth to wipe clean the areas on which the bpmv mounts to the ABS Control Module. Install the new ABS Control Module while using fresh mounting screws and skip the use of all sealants when working with the ABS Control Module gasket and contact areas. The new ABS Control Module should be attached to the bpmv before torquing its screws to 5 nm (39 inch lbs.) in a cross-shaped pattern. Attach the negative cable and lower the car until completion. Installation of a fresh ABS Control Module requires the ignition turned to on while abstaining from engine start followed by completion of diagnostic system check - vehicle.
