    Q:
How to replace or repair a front emblem on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before putting in the new nameplate tape off both the mount surface and the replacement itself to help align the parts during assembly. Apply the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) in circular motions for 30 seconds to heat the nameplate. Use a plastic flat blade to gently take off the nameplate from its surface. Use 3M Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk P/N 07502 or equivalent to clean adhesive from body panels while using VMP naphtha or isopropyl alcohol mixture with water on plastic panels. Use clean dry space for installation and apply tape on unmarked location before placing Buick or Regal door nameplate at 30 mm (1.188 in) below molding top and 80 mm (3.156 in) from door front edge. Position the CENTURY LIMITED nameplate directly into its designated spot in the door panel opening. Preheat the mounting area to 80-105°F (80-105°F) using the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) but keep the nameplate surface at 85-90°F temperature during application. Position the label following position marks before stripping off the liner backing. Apply steady pressure to even bond the nameplate with the designated surface. Take off the protective tape from the installed area.
