    Q:
How to Replace the Fuel Level Sensor in Dual Rear Tanks on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for changing the Fuel Level Sensor in dual tanks at the rear begins with removing the rear Fuel Tank while also disconnecting the evaporative emission (EVAP) lines from the Fuel Tank module. The fuel sender lock ring wrench (J 45722) permits counterclockwise rotation for unlocking the lock ring without allowing any contact with module pipes. The Fuel Tank module can be lifted from the tank after removing its lock ring with the tool to disconnect the quick connect fittings beneath the module cover and separate the vapor line fittings. The old Fuel Tank module seal needs discarding while mounting a replacement seal on the Fuel Tank system. The installation requires the operator to place the Fuel Tank module partially into the Fuel Tank while joining the vapor line quick connect fittings to the module before fully installing the module inside the Fuel Tank. The fuel sender lock ring wrench (J 45722) should be used for clockwise rotation of the lock ring to secure it. Keep in mind that all tool contact with module pipes must be avoided. Finish the task by mounting the Fuel Tank module into the Fuel Tank and joining the evap lines. Install the rear Fuel Tank.
