First, raise the 4-Door Utility and place it on suitable support before starting the sway bar link replacement. Start by removing the sway bar link upper bolt and nut before removing its lower counterparts to extract the link from the vehicle. The first step for installation requires mounting the sway bar link followed by the lower mounting bolt then the upper mounting bolt while observing the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. The assembly requires installing mounting nuts which must be tightened to 57 Nm and 35 Nm (42 ft. lbs. and 25 ft. lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.

A technician should start sway bar link replacement on a 2-Door Utility by properly lifting and supporting the vehicle. The sway bar link requires the upper mounting bolt and nut removal first then the lower mounting nut removal and finally the sway bar link can be taken out. The first step in installation is to put in the new sway bar link followed by tightening it with the lower mounting nut and the upper mounting bolt and nut. Secure the sway bar link lower mounting nut to 68 Nm and the upper mounting nut to 35 Nm. Finally, lower the vehicle.

First service and repair operations on the Sway Bar Link require that you raise and support the vehicle safely using safety stands. The procedure starts with removing the Sway Bar Link bolt then moving to disassemble the Sway Bar Link insulator and spacer before the upper retainer. Next, check all parts for signs of wear or damage. Start the Sway Bar Link installation process by positioning the insulators onto the link bolt followed by putting the bolt through the shaft. After the lower Control Arm inspection, insert the Sway Bar Link spacer then feed the bolt into place keeping each element in correct sequence. The upper retainer installation should be completed before you tighten the Sway Bar Link bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) while the vehicle is lowered.

Replacements of the pickup sway bar link require lifting the vehicle and providing adequate support before work begins. Start by taking out the sway bar link upper bolt while also removing the lower bolt and give the sway bar link sufficient space to unthread itself. The installation procedure starts with putting in the sway bar link before you add the lower mounting bolt for the sway bar link and finish with the upper mounting bolt. Apply a torque of minimum 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.) when you fasten the lower sway bar link mounting nut and a torque of 35 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) for upper sway bar link mounting nut. Finally, lower the vehicle.

The Sway Bar Link replacement in front suspension starts by using safety stands to elevate and maintain the vehicle. Start by removing the Sway Bar Link bolt before proceeding with removal of the Sway Bar Link insulator and spacer and upper retainer for inspection that will check for wear or damage. The Sway Bar Link bolt receives Sway Bar Link insulators before the bolt gets inserted through the sway bar. Stack all Sway Bar Link components correctly before inserting the bolt into both the lower Control Arm and the sway bar. The Sway Bar Link upper retainer installation must be finalized then tighten the Sway Bar Link bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) while lowering the vehicle.

Place the stabilizer shaft link spacer and insert the bolt through the lower control arm, ensuring all parts are stacked correctly.

Lower the vehicle.

The stabilizer shaft link bolt and stabilizer shaft insulator.

Secure it with the lower mounting nut and the upper mounting bolt and nut.
