Beginning HVAC control module replacement requires removal of the I/P accessory trim plate along with the screws that fix the HVAC control module into place. While removing the HVAC control module from the I/P use a finger to push down the three tabs. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the control module. The installation process starts with connector attachment to the HVAC control module while tabs demonstrate secure integration before placing the HVAC control module inside the I/P. Fasteners need to use their designated locations because replacing them demands fasteners which precisely match the application's part numbers. Service documentation identifies the fasteners along with thread locking requirements and sealing needs. The application of paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors to fasteners or their joint surfaces should be avoided because these substances can compromise both torque values and clamping force and ultimately degrade the fastener. Always use the specified torque sequence together with the recommended specifications to protect the system from damage when installing new fasteners. Secure the screws on the HVAC control module at 1.9 Nm torque (17 in. lbs.) before reinstalling the I/P accessory trim plate.

The auxiliary heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control module might also be programmed or set up in service procedures. If auxiliary HVAC Control Module is replaced, there are no other procedures. However, do not reprogram the auxiliary HVAC Control Module unless something tells you so in a service procedure or a service bulletin. For reprogramming of the HVAC Control Module, one must use service programming system (SPS). If an actuator gets replaced, actuators have to be re-calibrated using the re-calibrating actuators (Primary) and re-calibrating actuators (Auxiliary HVAC) procedure respectively in hvac systems - automatic or the re-calibrating actuators (Primary) procedure in hvac systems - manual.

To start working with the blower motor resistor you need to remove the right closeout/insulator panel first. Free the electrical wires from the blower motor resistor and remove its mounting screws so you can remove the resistor altogether. After you place the new blower motor resistor in its position consider fastener caution notes when doing the installation. Mount the new blower motor resistor with screws following step 1.9 Nm (17 lb in) of torque before connecting the electrical connector and placing back the right closeout/insulator panel.

Start replacements on the auxiliary Blower Motor Resistor by taking out the rear hvac module assembly. Disconnect the electrical cable from the blower motor control processor-auxiliary section while removing its mounting screws. Pull off both the blower motor control processor-auxiliary and its thermal gasket from their surface on the auxiliary Evaporator core. Put the thermal gasket on top of the blower motor control processor-auxiliary before you place and fasten the processor with screws to 2 n.m torque. Stick the electrical cord into the blower motor control processor-auxiliary, then install the hvac module-auxiliary.

Service operations need programming and setup routines for the HVAC control module specifically to service components that get replaced or reprogrammed. The replacement of an HVAC control module triggers automatic actuator re-calibration so additional procedures become unnecessary. The HVAC control module requires reprogramming only under direction from approved service procedures and service bulletins that use the Service Programming System (SPS). Actuator replacement requires running both Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary) and Re-Calibrating Actuators (Auxiliary HVAC) procedures found in HVAC Systems - Manual and Automatic.

The replacement of HVAC control module begins with the removal of I/P accessory trim plate. Start by unscrewing the HVAC control module screws then slowly depress the HVAC control module tabs to free the HVAC control module from the I/P before disconnecting its electrical connectors. During installation follow these steps: put the HVAC control module tabs in position before attaching electrical connectors that will securely slot into place. You should position the HVAC control module inside the I/P before securing it through screw installation while tightening screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in). Install the I/P accessory trim plate after completing the installation process.

Your first step when replacing the Blower Motor Resistor should be to take out the ip sound insulator unless it is present. Unplug the electrical wires from both the Blower Motor and the Blower Motor Resistor. Bring out the Blower Motor Resistor by removing its retaining screws. After putting the new Blower Motor Resistor in place you must fasten it with retaining screws. Torque the screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) according to the fastener notice. Afterward reconnect the Blower Motor Resistor to its power supply and then to the Blower Motor. Reinstall the ip sound shield only if the vehicle has this part.

The installation process to replace an auxiliary HVAC Control Module begins with removing the right rear quarter trim panel. Separate electrical connectors (3,4) from the auxiliary HVAC Control Module. Also detach the mounting screws to remove it. Screw out the auxiliary HVAC Control Module from within the auxiliary hvac module . To install the auxiliary HVAC Control Module place it into position on the auxiliary hvac module by tightening screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) as noted in service precautions fastener notice. Reapply electrical connectors (3,4) to the auxiliary HVAC Control Module then reinstall the right rear quarter trim panel.

Before replacement of the HVAC control module start by removing the I/P accessory trim plate together with the control module retaining screws. Press the located retaining tabs on the HVAC control module before pulling out the module from the instrument panel. Remove all electrical cables that connect to the HVAC control module. Install the electrical connectors to the HVAC control module after moving the key into the OFF position. Fit the HVAC control module securely into the instrument panel by aligning the retaining tabs followed by screw installation to a torque of 1.9 N.m (17 lb ft). Reinstall the I/P accessory trim plate as the final step. Adjustment of HVAC controls on the calibration process should be avoided since interruptions may cause HVAC system malfunction. Wait one full minute with the engine running.

Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor control processor-auxiliary and reinstall the HVAC module-auxiliary.

Secure it with screws, tightening them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

Push in at the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary to engage it in the console/seat.

Remove the retaining screws for the blower motor resistor and take out the resistor.

Next, remove the screws securing the blower motor control processor-auxiliary and take out the processor itself.

Remove the right closeout/insulator panel.

Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screws.

Use a flat bladed tool to carefully pry out the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary.

Extract the processor from the box.
