    Before replacing the vacuum Brake Booster you need to engage the parking brake and use wheel blocks. First disconnect the Brake Master Cylinder before removing it and disconnecting the Brake Booster check valve vacuum hose. Start by taking off the clip from the brake pedal stud then remove the stop lamp switch and Pushrod from the same point. Sever the vacuum booster from its frame using four mounting nuts and remove it while discarding the sealing gasket. You need to set a new gasket onto the booster before adding the vacuum booster. Use a 36 n.m torque setting to secure the four vacuum booster mounting nuts. Connect the Pushrod and stoplamp switch to the brake pedal stud and put the Pushrod retaining clip on last. Remount the vacuum booster unit along with the master cylinder using its check valve connection to the vacuum hose. After blocking the wheels shut down the vehicle then release the park brake to free up the wheels.

    The procedure starts with wheel blocking and application of the park brake before proceeding with the booster replacement. Start by disconnecting the hoses from the inlet steering and return parts of the booster assembly and afterwards remove the master cylinder (Master Cylinder Replacement (Vacuum Boost) master cylinder replacement (Hydraulic Boost)). Before extracting the booster assembly and gasket you must first detach the stop lamp switch and the four booster to bulkhead nuts. Place the new gasket firstly then position the booster assembly before tightening each of the four booster to bulkhead nuts to 36 n.m (26 lb ft). After reinstalling the switch and cylinder you must reattach the return hose with both steering equipment and inlet tubing connections. The hydraulic booster bleeding process must be completed together with park brake release and wheel unblocking. The use of brake fluid requires attention because it causes damage to paint and electrical parts while ensuring the right fluids are used for the hydraulic Brake Booster and master cylinder to prevent seal damage.
