    Q:
How to replace the rear Door Latch Assembly on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement for the impala rear Door Lock starts with removing the rear door trim panel along with the water deflector. First detach the outside handle rod from the lock and pull out the inside handle rods from the rear Door Handle followed by clip removal of the inside handle rods. You should begin by removing the rear Door Lock screws before extracting the lock with its attached inside handle rods. Use a screwdriver to detach all electrical connectors before taking out the inside handle rods from the lock assembly. Begin by installing the inside handle rods onto the lock followed by putting the lock through the access hole in the rear door inner panel then connect the electrical connectors. Put all rear Door Lock screws into the installation slots in this order from top to bottom to middle and torque them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). You should install a new outside handle rod-to-lock clip on the lock lever which requires positioning the outside Door Handle rod into the clip before securing the clip cover on top of the threaded rods. To complete the installation put the clip on the inside handle rods before attaching the rods to their designated handle position then reinstall the water deflector followed by the trim panel. Perform a lock system operation check as the final step.
