Sealing Strip

The initial step to replace the rear side door window weather strip requires the removal of the window. Begin by separating the weather strip from its current position at the front of the glass run channel and at the top of the window frame flange and at the rear of the glass run channel. When installing the new weather strip you should place it in front of the glass run channel and at the top of the window frame flange and the rear of the glass run channel before putting back the window.

The first step to replace the front door weather strip includes opening the door and removing it from the door pinchweld flange. Start by placing the preformed corner at the upper rear door opening and thereafter push the weather strip onto the door pinchweld flange starting from this corner. Push the weather strip onto the flange that runs along the entire border of the door opening until the whole way before your final closure of the door.

The inner sealing strip is attached with staples to the trim panel.

Fully seat the new weatherstrip into the channel of the rear side door opening.

Open the liftgate and remove the weatherstrip molding from the pinch-weld flange by firmly gripping it and carefully pulling it out and away from the vehicle.

Peel the weatherstrip away from the rear side door opening channel.

Take out the outer sealing strip from the door channel.

Align the weatherstrip in the window frame flange and press it in until fully seated.
