The Coil Spring Insulator replacement process starts with lifting the motor vehicle off the ground. Raise the vehicle first then unscrew the wheel and tire before using a jack stand to support the lower Control Arm. First disconnect the shock absorber's automatic level control air tube before removing the lower shock absorber retaining bolts. Start by removing the adjustment link retaining nut then employ the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) to split the adjustment link from the lower Control Arm. Lower the Control Arm toward the support while prying the lower Coil Spring Insulator free to finally extract the coil spring and insulator. You should pull down to detach the upper Coil Spring Insulator. Dismount the upper Coil Spring Insulator retainer into the vehicle body before mounting the coil spring followed by the lower insulator and verifying the insulator sits in the lower Control Arm. After lifting the lower Control Arm into position you should attach the two shock bolts to the Control Arm. Next install and tighten the lower shock absorber retaining bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Connect the adjustment link to the lower Control Arm before tightening the retaining nut to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) and an additional 180 degree rotation. To complete the installation replace the automatic level control air tube to the shock absorber, secure the tire and wheel, then position the vehicle on the ground.

Begin the insulator replacement of rear Coil Springs by raising the vehicle for free Control Arm suspension and supporting it in place. Start by removing wheels followed by tires before you support the lower Control Arm with a jack stand. Proceed by removing the absorber lower retaining bolts and the adjustment link retaining nut. The process of separating linkage joints through wedge insertion should be avoided since it causes damage to the seal. The universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) allows you to separate the adjustment link from the knuckle. To start the procedure drop the Control Arm onto its support assembly while carefully prying under the lower Coil Spring Insulator to remove both spring and its insulator. Pull down on the upper insulator when removal proves necessary. Before installation place the lower insulator retainer inside the vehicle body and insert the coil spring along with the lower insulator while making sure the insulator rests correctly in the Control Arm. Position the lower Control Arm and install the shock absorber's lower retaining bolts before torqueing them to 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Screw the adjustment link into place on the Control Arm and tighten the adjustment link retaining nut to 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). The final step involves the installation of the automatic level control air tube onto the shock absorber followed by tire and wheel return then lowering down the vehicle.

Begin by supporting and raising the vehicle so the Control Arm can freely hang in the air before starting replacement of coil spring insulators. Start by removing the wheel assembly followed by using a jack stand to support the lower Control Arm. Start by unscrewing both absorber lower retaining bolts and the adjustment link retaining nut. Seal damage must be avoided during linkage joint separation procedures because insertion of a wedge tool between components results in damage. To split the adjustment link from the knuckle you must use the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B). Start by placing the Control Arm on the support assembly and using a downward warner to access the lower Coil Spring Insulator. They then extract the coil spring with its insulator. Follow additional instructions to remove the upper insulator while pulling it down. To install the component start by inserting the retainer from the upper insulator into the vehicle body before installing both the lower insulator and coil spring while verifying the insulator finds its seat in the Control Arm. Wedge the lower Control Arm to maximum height while installing shock absorber lower retaining bolts at a torque setting of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Attach the adjustment link to the Control Arm before tightening the adjustment link retaining nut to 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). As a final step install the automatic level control air tube to the shock absorber then reinstall the tire along with the wheel before lowering the vehicle.

Install the coil spring and lower insulator.

Remove the coil from the vehicle using the Universal Steering Linkage Puller (J 24319-B).

Separate the lower insulator from the coil spring.

Remove the tire and wheel.

Use the Universal Steering Linkage Puller (J24319-B).
