Yaw Rate Sensor

Before performing sensor replacement work you need to lift and stabilize your vehicle under the hood. Take off the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt while you disconnect the electrical connection. Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring connections from their holders before taking out the wheel speed sensor. Twist the wheel speed sensor into position until it reaches full seating then secure the retaining bolt at 13 N.m (115 lb in). Drive in the electrical connector then fix the wheel speed sensor wiring harness to its retainers and reduce the vehicle afterward. Start your engine and let it run at idle to confirm that the ABS or traction assist lights stay lit for wheel speed sensor testing. Drive only when the technician inspects the damaged wheel speed sensor electrical connector and its correct mounting position. Look for problems linked to Antilock Brake System if the lamp stays lit. choose an even and dry ground space that is free from traffic and items in the way and drive the vehicle at 16 km/h (10 mph) or higher for 5 seconds. Inspect the ABS indicator light after stopping; follow the Antilock Brake System diagnostic beginning task if either light shows.

Position the new wheel speed sensor into the wheel knuckle and secure it with the bolt, tightening it to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Release it from the wheelhouse, carefully pull the wire and connector through, and release the wire harness routing clips from both the wheelhouse and suspension strut.

Raise and support the vehicle, and remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Apply a thin layer of the lubricant supplied in the WSS kit to the hub surface and the WSS O-ring.

Raise and support the vehicle.

First, raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel assembly.

The front wheel speed sensors are integral with the hub and bearing assemblies.

Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and release the electrical connector and sensor harness clips from the inboard frame rail.

Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and release the wire harness grommet from the lower control arm bracket, followed by the wire harness routing clips from the upper suspension link.

Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, then perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle.

Reattach the wheel speed sensor wire harness routing clips to the upper suspension link and install the grommet to the lower control arm bracket.

First, raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Reconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and secure the electrical connector and sensor harness clips to the inboard frame rail.
