Start the Ignition Coil replacement procedure by removing the specific Ignition Coil based on whether it belongs to bank 2 or bank 1. Wait until the engine has cooled down before touching spark plugs to stop the damage of Cylinder Head threads. Thoroughly clean the Spark Plug recess area using a thread chaser after which you should check the seating area to prevent contamination from affecting plug placement. Thorough inspections should be performed on spark plugs while they remain in their engine position (Spark Plug Inspection). Installation of new spark plugs needs to use items that conform to the vehicle specification exactly since using different heat levels can result in engine damage. Use a round feeler gauge to inspect the gap of new and reconditioned spark plugs since handling may have changed the pre-set gaps then compare the results against the specifications in the ignition system specifications to make any necessary adjustments. The thread chaser enables easy and complete insertion of the Spark Plug into the Cylinder Head to prevent overheating and thread damage. Fasten the proper Ignition Coil after tightening the Spark Plug(s) to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). In case of bank 1 use Ignition Coil replacement - bank 1 and bank 2 requires Ignition Coil replacement - bank 2.

Install the spark plugs into the engine, ensuring they are tightened to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

Reinstall the ignition coil.

Reinstall the intake manifold cover if necessary.

Measure the spark plug gap and adjust as necessary to meet specifications.

Tighten them to 15 Nm (11 lb ft) and then reinstall the appropriate ignition coil for Bank 1 or Bank 2.

Inspect the spark plug(s).

First, remove the appropriate ignition coil and then take out the spark plug(s) from the engine, ensuring the engine has cooled to prevent damage to the cylinder head threads.

Ensure the spark plug threads smoothly into the cylinder head and is fully seated, using a thread chaser if necessary to avoid cross-threading or incomplete seating.

Inspect the spark plugs.

Use a thread chaser to clean any contamination from the threads.

Clean the spark plug recess area to prevent dirt or foreign material from entering the cylinder head.
