PCV Valve

Open the job by taking off the two nuts from the fuel injector sight shield and gently lifting the sight shield forward to break the rear tab loose from the bracket. After that, take the PCV Valve out from the right camshaft cover and separate it from the pcv hose. For assembly, put the PCV Valve into the pcv hose, then push it all the way into the right camshaft cover. Line up the hole in the rear tab with the slot in the bracket and gently push the sight shield toward the Intake Manifold, then pull it down so the studs go into the holes. Afterward, put the fuel injector sight shield nuts on and tighten them to 3 nm (27 inch lbs.).

The positive crankcase ventilation service requires one to disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation valve hose first from the Intake Manifold then from the valve rocker arm cover. The following step requires turning the PCV Valve cover out of the upper Intake Manifold but the cover should be discarded along with its o-ring. Use an engine oil to lubricate a new seal (O-ring) placed at the PCV Valve cover before installation. Emplace the PCV Valve cover into the upper Intake Manifold and complete the operation by turning it to achieve locking position. According to the procedure reconnect the PCV Valve Hose assembly by running it through both the valve rocker arm cover and Intake Manifold.

First disconnect the PCV Valve Hose assembly from the Intake Manifold as well as the hose from the valve rocker arm cover. You will need to first turn then take out the PCV Valve cover from the upper Intake Manifold while discarding the 0-ring seal. After putting on a new seal (0-ring) to the PCV Valve cover coating it with clean engine oil start the installation process. Fitting the PCV Valve cover into the upper Intake Manifold should be followed by turning it to achieve proper installation. You should connect the PCV Valve Hose assembly at once to both the valve rocker arm cover and the Intake Manifold.

The positive crankcase ventilation valve requires service which begins by disconnecting both hosings: the PCV Valve Hose assembly from the Intake Manifold and additionally the hose connected to the valve rocker arm cover. Labelling the PCV Valve cover for the upper Intake Manifold position will allow its removal by turning it counterclockwise until it can be accessed for installation while discarding the o-ring seal. Place a new seal (O-ring) on the PCV Valve cover before lubricating it with clean engine oil following the installation steps. First insert the PCV Valve cover into the upper Intake Manifold before tightly turning it into its correct position. The hose assembly of the PCV Valve should be connected to both the valve rocker arm cover and the Intake Manifold for final installation.

Start the PCV Valve replacement by detaching first the PCV Valve Hose assembly from Intake Manifold and the valve rocker arm cover. Start by turning the PCV Valve cover from the upper Intake Manifold and removing it alongside the disposal of the o-ring seal. You must begin with adding a brand new o-ring to the PCV Valve cover followed by oiling it with fresh engine oil before installation. The PCV Valve cover gets installed at its designated position in the upper Intake Manifold before turning it to set. Set up both ends of the PCV Valve Hose assembly while one end hooks onto the valve rocker arm cover then the other end joins the Intake Manifold.

Reconnect the PCV valve hose assembly to both the valve rocker arm cover and the intake manifold.
