The first step to change the p/s pressure hose requires lifting and sustaining the vehicle. Position the engine frame at the gear to remove both the Power Steering Hose retainer along with the steering gear heatshield. The first step includes disconnecting the Power Steering Hose from the steering gear followed by draining the power steering fluid. The power steering line must be disconnected from the Power Steering Pump following that the line can be taken off the vehicle. Position the hoses properly before installing the power steering line to the pump and tighten it to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Fasten the power steering line at the steering gear and maintain it with a torque of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Fasten the retainer bolts at 6 nm (53 inch lbs.), then secure the power steering gear heatshield by tightening retainer bolts to 10 nm (7 lb. Lbs.). Next proceed to lower the vehicle then perform necessary power steering system filling and bleeding procedures.
