A hood secondary latch replacement starts with removing the remote handle rod retaining clip and securing bolts from the secondary latch. After removing the latch from the hood position the new secondary latch onto its location. Secure both bolts which fasten the secondary latch in place by tightening them to 12 N.m (106 lb in). Finish the installation process by placing back the remote handle rod together with its retaining clip then check the secondary latch function before closing the hood.
