How to replace the primary hood latch on Cadillac Eldorado?

The first step before replacing the hood primary latch is to remove the radiator support sight shield. Begin by removing two bolts that fix the primary latch and discontinue the Hood Latch release cable from connecting to the latch. Install the Hood Latch release cable onto the latch and place the latch on the car. Install the hood primary latch by carefully following the fastener notice for correct installation procedures. Use the provided 2 bolts to fasten the latch before securing them with 11 n.m (97 lb in) torque. Reinstall the radiator support sight shield before closing the hood while checking whether the latch performs correctly and performing adjustments if needed.
